Chill with a Book READERS’ Award
Amelia, lives in a down ridden northern English town. Her childhood goes from ‘not good’ to ‘worse’ after the violent death of her older half brother. Things get even worse when she asks for help from her other half brother with a history of crime. All through this, she also is dealing with an alcoholic mother whom she has to care for, and then, a life threatening illness shakes the family to it’s core. This young girl has a lot to deal with for someone her age, and she doesn’t always make the best decisions for healthy coping mechanisms. You will get invested in Amelia’s journey that covers a few years as she grows physically and emotionally as a young woman.
